letter from a soldier

“My angel,
been away too long from your arms,
in this world with rules of steel,
who turn your heart in a foreign shape,
with beats that do not belong anymore.
I know I am me,
but anyway a stranger,
with one wish to be fulfilled:
return to you.
I am selfish, I know.
Oh, how I love this feeling!
Kisses I gave you comes in my mind,
but much stronger than they happened.
You couldn’t imagine how deep in me
have dug and had to hide it there
not to be found by any battle.
I lost my excelent of make this world a better place,
come to reality very soon,
and all that matters is you and me.
Cannot allow myself to think of you, anyway
when we are attacked or reverse.
Your eyes make me week and useless
for the animal I should be.
Chase ourselves,
changing places between the hunted
and the one who hold the killing arm.
But for many times we have to be ready for both.
Here I learned what hungry means,
when all you have is a molded piece of a former bread
and have to be split in five.
Remember of the dog we lost last summer?
I see him every time we had to kill animals
to feed us,
unless we would die from starving.
This means is he dead?
He looks at me with understanding and barks.
Anyway, don’t worry! Haven’t lost my mind yet.
I am here too long for now,
even you said it passed just four month.
Time is just different here,
I think realize now what eternity means.
But being in hell comes as a perpetuum pain.
Please send me another photo of you,
cause I lost it during a fight.
I returned after to find it,
searched all the places.
There were so much dead bodies around me,
but all I saw was your face smiling at me
from the picture.
So, my love, I need a hope
that comes from the other world:
the one within you are leaving.
Take a new photo I could see as you are now.
Present is the most important lesson
I embraced.
The past is erased.
All the misery and death that comes from yesterday
are history to me.
As speak to the future,
has been absorved completely in hope.
Without images, just simply faith.
What is the point of imagine two hands they shake
in a pact of truth and peace
for humanity well being?
I suppose there are still souls to be cleaned,
and in this suffering will raise a better humans.
This is my answer to the eternal question
that comes in mind constantly:
Why do we need this?
It is the only way we could be pure again?
I am not a deeper,
all my desire is to feel you next to me.
Therefore for this right I have to pay,
so shall be it.
My letters make you suffer?
I ask forgiveness if they are.
I‘ll try to be more delicate next time.
I have to end this letter.
Please embrace my mother tight
and ask her to forgive me I didn’t write to her.
I have no power to do it twice.
As for you,
my love has not changed a bit,
grew as a mountain, as a sky and I realize now
love is the only thing in this world
